5 Reasons You Should See John Mayer's Tour
John Mayer begins his first U.S. tour in two years this April, starting in Bloomington, Indiana, and wrapping up Phoenix 17 concert dates later. As per his burgeoning interest in the military (his upcoming fifth album is called Born and Raised), some of the ticket sales will go toward the men and women returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Need more reasons to go? Then check these out.
5. He Smacked Down Perez
Mayer got in a Twitter war with Perez Hilton and referenced Doogie Howser in the process. Big points on both counts.
Mayer: @perezhilton now you sit down behind that Tandy computer and you hash out a Doogie diary. Be sure to pause, think, and keep typing.
4. He’s Musically Schizophrenic
Not many concerts will go from the cheesy bedroom pop of “Your Body Is a Wonderland” to a smoking blues jam in the style of the old-time greats. But Mayer can. And he will.
3. He Said This About Ex-Girlfriend Jessica Simpson
"That girl is like crack cocaine to me," Mayer told Playboy. "Sexually it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, 'I want to quit my life and just f---ing snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f--k you, I would start selling all my s--t just to keep f---ing you.'" No, Mr. Mayer, I can't say I ever have said that. Not that you were asking me anyway.
2. It’s Your Duty as an American
Some of the proceeds are going toward our military veterans. If you don’t go, the terrorists win. And we can't let that happen, can we?
1. He’s Actually an Amazing Guitar Player
The dude played guitar on “Human Nature” at Michael Jackson’s Memorial. It was so good you could almost forget every insane thing he's ever said, done or Tweeted. Almost. Watch it below and check out details for his tour here.
