Motley Crue's Super Bowl Ad is Weird
If you're a lazy advertising agency with a bottomless budget, you can pretty much set up your Super Bowl ad with one phrase—It was all a dream—and get away with anything. But if you're going to just make some s**t up, you could do worse than getting Mötley Crüe to headline your 91-second ode to über-masculinity.
In the below Kia ad, Mr. Sandman appears in the bedroom of a sleeping couple and accidentally spills too much dream powder, ironically the only thing Mötley Crüe hasn't snorted in their career.
The result? Fast cars (with supermodel Adriana Lima as the flag girl), former UFC champ Chuck Liddell and dozens of girls in bikinis, all soundtracked by Crüe's overdose revival anthem "Kickstart My Heart" and a live performance by the band.
And since it's a dream, there is a guy riding a rhinoceros and loggers slicing through a sandwich. Umm... Yeah. Sure. Go for it.
While you await Monday's USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter, check out the ad below and good luck getting the song out of your head all day.
