Jack White Hits "Saturday Night Live"
We've already told you a little about "Love Interruption," the first single off Jack White's upcoming solo album Blunderbuss. But last night, we got to see the singer perform the track live on Saturday Night Live alongside new song "Sixteen Saltines."
The relative mellowness of "Interruption" was countered by the heavier, bluesier "Sixteen Saltines," which sounds like 1960s proto-metal band Blue Cheer recording at Stax Studios. White kept it gender neutral, performing with an all-female band on "Interruption" and all-male ensemble for "Saltines."
It was the singer's first "SNL" appearance since 2002, when the White Stripes performed "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" and "We're Going to Be Friends" with, of all people, Senator John McCain hosting.
