Ke$ha's New Album Inspired by Male Genitalia
It's possible that this is the most predictable thing to ever spill out of Ke$ha's mouth, considering that she sometimes makes her assistant dress up in a penis costume and dance around. But, still, it's pretty funny: The party girl singer took to Twitter to say that her upcoming album will usher in an all-new sound, and she's calling it "cock pop."
"Wailing on an epic track with Doctor Luke & Benny Blanco," she wrote. "This is the dawn of a new genre of music: COCK POP!!!"
Ke$ha is currently working with the aforementioned producers on her follow-up to 2010's breakout Animal. The "cock pop" news contradicts quotes Ke$ha previously made about the LP's sound; back in January she released a stripped down (and quite good) cover of Bob Dylan's classic breakup ballad "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," which she said helped her appreciate her more vulnerable side and move past the "brash" and "sassy" sounds of Animal.
"I very much want to be seen as a strong woman, but I realise that vulnerability can also be a strength," she said. "So on my next record, you're going to hear probably a little more of that. I'm not going to make an acoustic, sad entire record. But you might hear a little bit more vulnerability on the record 'cause I have realized just from this Dylan cover coming out that it can be such a strength and a nice balance to humanize the other side of my personality."
