SAN FRANCISCO, CA - AUGUST 12: James Mercer of The Shins performs at Day One of the Outside Lands Music & Art Festival at Gol

It’s good to have the Shins back after a five-year break.

They might not “change your life” as Natalie Portman promised in that best-forgotten Zach Braff movie, but James Mercer is still one of indie pop’s reigning masters. Their fourth album Port Of Morrow doesn’t come out until next week, but hark, weary listeners! The full album is streaming online now. Take a listen: It’s the perfect antidote to your workday.

And in case you missed it, the Albuquerque dudes recently did a video for Funny or Die. It features spitballs, spontaneous combustion, a Frisbee enthusiast getting the crap kicked out of him... basically, oddball bits Tim and Eric might enjoy. You can catch that over here

What's your first impression of Port Of Morrow? Tell us below!

And while you're at it, check out our photos of The Shins NYC gig at Terminal 5!
