Watch Phish's Hysterical Summer Tour Announcement
If you're like us, you just assumed that Phish prepared for each tour ingesting copious amounts of homegrown hallucinogens, tending to their organic mint garden and jamming 23 hours a day. Turns out we were a bit off.
In the below video announcing the band's summer tour, drummer Jon Fishman is seen at a "Secret Training Facility Somewhere in Vermont" warming up on a drum kit, jogging around New England, lifting weights, making smoothies and, naturally, sewing together his favorite dress to wear for the show.
The tour begins with two shows in Worcester, Mass. on June 7 and 8 before the group encamps in Tennessee for Bonnaroo on June 10 and Bader Field, home to Metallica's Orion Festival, for three nights beginning June 15. After bouncing around the country, presumably playing unexpected covers, the perpetually touring band will end their tour with a three-night stint in Saratoga Springs, New York beginning July 6.
Even if you're not a fan, the video below is comic gold.
