A pox on all you "Rock is dead" naysayers and gadflies. Jack White's debut album Blunderbuss premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

According to Billboard, that the former White Stripes frontman sold 138,000 albums in its first week of release.

Despite all their success, the White Stripes never reached the top spot, with 2007's Icky Thump peaking at No. 2 and 2005's Get Behind Me Satan only making it to No. 3. (The Raconteurs' two albums each topped out at No. 7 for all you Jack White trivia completists.)

So raise a guitar pick to John Anthony Gillis and his thunderous new album. Well done, sir.
