Snow Patrol on Ed Sheeran's Talent and Michael Stipe's Help
When we caught up with Irish rock band Snow Patrol at New York's Terminal 5, the group showed some love for their opener, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. "He's an incredible, young artist," said Snow Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody. "He's 21 years old and has all the confidence of someone who's been doing it for years and years."
Lightbody also discussed why the band has no problem licensing their music for television and the effect former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe had on his songwriting. For "New York," the third single from their 2011 album Fallen Empires, Stipe advised the songwriter to change one word to avoid making Lightbody look like a psycho. What word? Find out in the video above.
