Feist's "Cicadas and Gulls" Video: Air Guitar, Interpretive Dancing
For Canadian singer-songwriter Feist, music is a communal experience—she loves to share and perform her songs with others. At her recent gig at Radio City Music Hall, her band surpassed a whopping 30 members, including string and brass sections and back-up singers. She even invited the crowd onstage to sing and dance along.
In her conceptual new music video for "Cicadas and Gulls," a gentle acoustic tune from her last album Metals, Feist goes the same route, this time performing on a sidewalk with members of her backing vocal group Mountain Man while members of Oakland dance crew Turf Feinz bust out some interpretive dance moves. Watch the clip above.
So what does dancing to Feist's tender, intimate ballad look like? Well, let's just say that there's some fancy footwork, contortionist body-pretzel moves and even some rippin' air guitar. Don't say I didn't warn you.
