Jay-Z Is Curating & Headlining a Festival in Philadelphia
Jay-Z, the rap world's most visible mogul, is about to get a little more visible and a little more moguley when he curates and headlines his own festival, called the Budweiser Made in America Festival, in Philadelphia on Sept. 1 and Sept 2.
According to The New York Times, the event is expected to bring as many as 28 acts to Fairmont Park in Philadelphia and will be run by Live Nation, which has a 360 deal with Jay-Z that's worth $150 million.
The festival will be formally unveiled in a news conference this morning with Mayor Michael A. Nutter of Philadelphia and will bring together a lineup of "rock, hip hop, R&B, Latin and dance" acts. Jay-Z is currently the only artist announced.
The festival will give away an unspecified portion of proceeds to local charities and you can get tickets for it at TicketMaster starting May 23.
So would you go to Jay-Z's festival? Who would you want to see there? Let us know in the comments!
