THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - JUNE 17: Bobby Womack performs on stage during The Hague Jazz Festival at Kyocera Stadium on June 17

It's a chilling experience to hear a cancer-stricken soul legend sing the words "The bravest man in the universe," with a grit and resolution in his voice that's only afforded by living a long life full of demons of his own. Then the electro beat drops. Even at 68, as he's fighting colon cancer, Bobby Womack hasn't stopped. That's thanks in part to one Damon Albarn. Hear their collabo on the title track from Womack's new Albarn-produced LP The Bravest Man In The Universe—his first release in 18 years.

The LP was recorded at Albarn's Studio 13 in West London and is set to drop June 11. Lana Del Rey also guests on the LP. Here's what Womack had to say about that: "She's one of a kind. I've never sung with a girl like that before." He also described their collabo as being like "two people in a church."

Womack officially announced that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in March, saying "My family, friends and I are looking forward to a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I want to thank all of my fans for their prayers, love and well wishes. I look forward to seeing all of you on the road in support of my new release."

I look forward to seeing you too, Mr. Womack. Killer song. Like it? Tell me in the comments.
