When we caught up with Lupe Fiasco at the Beale St. Music Festival, the rapper was happy to share details on his upcoming double album Food & Liquor 2 and the track "Form Follows Function." But in the clip above, Lupe also discussed the massive influence Pharrell Williams had on himself and other rappers.

"He's one of the few dudes in the industry that I can honestly call a friend," said Lupe. "His career is just advice for everybody that wants to be avant garde. He's the prototype for diversity. He's the inspiration for Kanye. He's the inspiration for me. He's the inspiration for Jay-Z. Who had the Louis Vuitton first?"
