Paul McCartney—former Beatle and all-around pop music genius—turns 70 today, Monday, June 18. Since the Beatles' debut album dropped 49 years ago, the Liverpudlian really hasn't taken a break from making music. So to commemorate his 70th, we asked an eclectic slew of artists to send Sir Paul their birthday wishes.

Def Leppard and Scissor Sisters tell their star-struck stories about meeting Maccca, Marilyn Manson sings a few bars of the Beatles' "Birthday" for Paul and Lupe Fiasco talks about Paul's genre-hopping expertise. Even Slipknot gives McCartney props because, as they say, "Paul McCartney is the king."
