Watch your back, Jay-Z. The Flaming Lips are coming for that number one spot. Wayne Coyne and company are out to break Hova's claim to the Guinness World Record for "Most Concerts in One Day" this month, and with eight shows in eight cities, these guys are going to need to bring more confetti than usual.

The Lips are bringing along several of their Heady Fwends for this outing, two of whom contributed to their recent collaborative album (Unfortunately, Ke$ha is sitting this bout of Lips insanity out.)

This outing will start on June 27 with a show at Memphis, TN's Handy Park with New Fumes, then head to Clarksdale, MS's Ground Zero Blues Club to play with Gary Clark Jr. All in all, they will play five Mississippi's towns alone on this tour. This ambitious outing will come to head with a New Orleans show at a venue to be announced with fellow vulva-enthusiast Grimes

According to Fuse’s Google Maps number crunching, the Lips will cover approximately 783 miles in one day, though the exact number could change based on the New Orleans venue and the exact route/transportation the band takes. But still, that’s an impressive amount of traveling just to avoid Erykah Badu!
