Kanye West to Drop Sixth Solo Album After G.O.O.D. Music Release
Just when you were starting to understand 2010's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West's long-time friend/producer No I.D. has revealed that the rapper is working on his sixth solo album and plans to release it after G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer drops.
MTV caught up with No I.D. at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards recently and the Chicago producer says he's not working on Cruel Summer, but he is working on Kanye's next album. When asked what fans can expect from Ye's new solo tunes, No I.D. raised his eyebrows, laughed and replied, "He hasn't missed yet." Yeezy taught you well.
West and No I.D. go way back to their Chicago days when No I.D. helped Kanye score his first record contract on Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshua's imprint Hip Hop Since 1978. The label's first official project was 2004's The College Dropout, and we all know how that turned out.
Let us know what you think about Kanye's upcoming sixth album in the comments. G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer drops August 7.
