Listen: No Doubt Release First New Song in 11 Years
They're back: No Doubt just dropped their first new track in 11 years, "Settle Down," which is the first single off their September 25 comeback album, Push and Shove. Since forming in 1986, Gwen Stefani and Co. have combined elements of punk, ska, pop, New Wave, hip hop, reggae and more into one genre-blurring sound, and "Settle Down" continues their tradition.
There's dancehall drums and bass, chattering reggae guitars, blasting horns, whiz-bang samples, slick synths, percussion aplenty and, of course, Stefani's recognizable pout: "Don't get me started / I'm trying to get a hold on this," she pleads. Good stuff. Unmistakably No Doubt.
