Watch Paul McCartney Perform "Hey Jude" at Olympics Opening Ceremony
Did you see the opening ceremony of the Olympics last night? I tuned in for Bob Costas' Factoids from Around the Globe ("Winston Churchill called Uganda the 'Pearl of Africa,' but he couldn't have foreseen Idi Amin!"), but ended up checking out Paul McCartney close the ceremony with Abbey Road's "The End" and a singalong version of "Hey Jude." Though at this point, is there any version of the song that doesn't turn into a massive singalong?
The four-hour ceremony, directed by Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Trainspotting), also featured Two Door Cinema Club frontman Alex Trimble singing "Caliban's Dream," a song written specifically for the ceremony, and Arctic Monkeys performing "I Bet That You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and the Beatles' "Come Together." Check it out below.
