Skrillex Is Scoring Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers" Movie
We were already excited to see weirdo director Harmony Korine's upcoming movie Spring Breakers—Gucci Mane, Selena Gomez and James Franco on one screen together? Sign us up. (Bonus points: James Franco's character is a dude named "Alien" and modeled after real-life rapper Riff Raff.)
But now we might even be buying our tickets in advance. Dubstep master Skrillex is set to score the film. We know: WTF. Regarding how he'll approach the giant task of setting the music mood for Spring Breakers, Skrillex said in a statement, "Scoring to film is definitely a different approach to music making in the sense that it's not so much about how the music sounds by itself as it is finding ways to compliment the vibe of the film." But (thankfully?) it's not going to be heavy WUB WUBBING blowing out the speakers. Skrillex tweeted recently, "it's more or less traditional scoring...dont expect dance floor bangers!"
We're equal parts terrified and frightened about this whole situation. Let us know what you guys think about Skrillex scoring Spring Breakers in the comments below.
