Deadmau5 Announces Weirdly-Titled New Album With Cat on Cover

Like most superstar EDM DJs, Joel Zimmerman has placed his cat on the cover of his record

Surprise! deadmau5 just announced that he has a brand new studio album dropping September 25. Which is very, very weird considering the Toronto DJ born Joel Zimmerman kicked off his week by saying that he needed to "unplug for a wee bit" because "im basicly pretty miserable right now [and need to] figure out whatever the f**k it is i do." What a trickster, that deadmau5.

In keeping with his tradition of giving his albums non-titles (for instance, 2008's Random Album Title and 2009's For Lack of a Better Name) this upcoming 2012 release is called >album title goes here<. Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

The record will include Chairman Mau5's previously-released song with My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way as well as tracks featuring indie-electro singer Imogen Heap, Cali hip hop legends Cypress Hill and a collaborative track (called "Channel 42") with DJ and friend Wolfgang Gartner (who defended deadmau5's "button-pusher" comments about DJs today when I spoke with him last month).

Collabos aside, the greatest thing about this album is undoubtedly the cover art (see below), which features Zimmerman's Internet-famous kitty Professor Meowingtons pHd wearing his trademark mau5 ear helmet. Chances are pretty good that Professor Pussycat will be listening to >album title goes here< on his $1000 limited-edition headphones for cats.

Excited for new deadmau5?
