It's becoming increasingly apparent that this is Nicki Minaj's world and we just live in it. The latest (possible) proof: Nicki Minaj may be joining Mariah Carey as one of the new judges on American Idol, according to two unnamed sources speaking to US Weekly. Think about that for a second: If she joined Idol, that would mean America's supreme diva and rap's reigning queen would be debating artistic talent on TV's top singing competition. Cray.

One of the unnamed sources told the mag the deal is "100% confirmed," while the other tattler said, "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it." Neither Fox nor Minaj's representatives confirmed the deal to US Weekly. Fox declined to comment when we reached out to them, and we have yet to hear back from Minaj's camp.

Surprisingly, soda could possibly be causing a hiccup in Minaj's deal with Idol, at least according to the Hollywood Reporter. Anyone who has watched more than five minutes of American Idol knows Coca-Cola sponsors that show (to the tune of $26 million per year), which could be a problem considering that Nicki Minaj recently became the face of Pepsi thanks to a seven-figure deal with Coke's rival.

So if Minaj's alleged deal with Idol fizzles out, conflicting soda endorsements just might be the reason it popped. Check back to as the story develops.
