In case you haven't heard (or seen), The Expendables 2 is a live action movie (and sequel to the awesome original) starring some of the genre's most iconic buff dudes, like Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture and more. So, because they're way, way tougher than we are, we figured we'd ask the aforementioned real-life GI Joes about their favorite explosive songs (lots of explosions in the movie!) and their musical guilty pleasures. Turns out JCVD is actually a really big Barry White fan.
"[He was] one of my favorite singers when I was young," says Van Damme, who clearly never had trouble with the ladies (welcome to the gun show, soundtracked by "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe." He adds, "Sorry, I'm old fashion, but I love him. And I met him! When we came to Los Angeles, I came backstage and he said [mimics White's deep, rippling, panty-dropping voice] 'Ohhhhhh, Jean-Claude Van Damme... [laughs].'"
When it comes to explosive tunes, however, it's all about the big beats and crashing guitars. "Heavy metal, like AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell,'" says Lundgren. Crews, however, wants Rick Ross, Kanye, Jay-Z for "when you're ready to go out and do something, ready to blow something up!"
The Expendables 2 hits theaters on August 17.
