We knew something was up when Lady Gaga was spotted peeping Kendrick Lamar's set at Pitchfork earlier this summer. Gaga praised Lamar's single "Swimming Pools," while Lamar slyly tweeted about Gaga's Born This Way track, "Hair." Gaga also shared a photo of the new pals together in the studio, so anyone who excelled in the context clues portion of sixth grade English could deduct that some kind of collaboration was headed our way.

Now we have confirmation. Lady Gaga announced this morning that the track she's been working on with Lamar will drop September 6 and will also be featured on his upcoming album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, set to arrive on October 2. Gaga also shared the title of the song: "PARTYNAUSEOUS." All caps, people. It's a trend now. (See also: Gaga's upcoming album title, ARTPOP.)

While we don't doubt that Gaga is a Kendrick fan and Kendrick gets down to some "Edge of Glory" every once in a while, it is interesting to note that the two are both on the same record label, Interscope. But perhaps it's their shared love of complicated punctuation that brings them together—how all great friendships begin.
