SoCal punk band No Use For A Name has lost its lead singer, Tony Sly. He was 41. His cause of death has not yet been determined.

Fat Mike, the NOFX bassist-singer and founder of Fat Wreck Chords, NUFAN's longtime label home, had this to say on the Fat Wreck Chords' website: "One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed."

In an interview with Spinner from just last month, Sly mentioned his troubles with a herniated disc: "I'm in pain all the time and that sucks. I've been getting epidural shots, seeing a chiropractor and I'm in physical therapy. It's all a bit much, and a bit depressing."

No Use For A Name has released nine studio albums over the course of their 20+ year history.
