The
year was 2002, and while most of America was getting down to Nelly’s
"Hot in Herre" and Eminem's "Without Me" a few of us were listening to
something a bit more awesome.
In
August of that year we had a serious awakening when a band from New
York called Interpol released their debut album titled Turn on the Bright
Lights. Yeah, we can't believe it's been 10 years since one of our
favorite albums was released either, and not only does that mean we are getting old, but in
honor of that monumental album the band is doing something special for
us.
On
November 20 Interpol will release a 10th anniversary edition of the album that includes
a hardbound book of unreleased photos, and the second disc
includes bonus tracks, demos and B-sides.
"We
spent a good deal of time this past year digging through our archives
and asking others to dig through theirs in the hopes of uncovering some
forgotten material. The result of our hunting and gathering has yielded
this Tenth Anniversary Edition of Turn on the Bright Lights.
We wanted to do something special for the fans who have always
supported us. We wanted to do something special for the best fans in
the world. We hope you enjoy it,” guitarist Daniel Kessler says.
