Had he not tragically passed away of AIDS in 1991, theatrical Queen frontman Freddie Mercury would've been 67 today, no doubt still donning elaborate costumes and belting out "Another One Bites the Dust" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" to stadiums around the world.

A blend of camp, pop, prog, hard rock and metal, Queen's influence has been acknowledged by everyone from Metallica to Nirvana to the Flaming Lips. Mercury's death from AIDS also increased awareness to the then-little-understood disease, and has since spawned Freddie For a Day, the annual celebration of Mercury's life that doubles as a fundraiser for the Mercury Phoenix Trust charity.
