A year since the men of R.E.M. called it quits the trio reunited in New York City for a special one-night only...dinner. The New York Post reports that Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Mike Mills broke bread last weekend at Old Homestead Steakhouse in the Meatpacking District where a witness said they “caught up and reminisced about old times.” Hmm...that "witness" is obviously bad at eavesdropping since “they” only summarized a vague description of the conversation. Next time, "witness," get details!

Apparently Stipe arrived before Buck and Mills, and opted for general seating because he "preferred the good vibes" of the patrons. The original college-rockers chowed down on porterhouse steaks, spinach and mac ’n’ cheese, and sipped on martinis and merlot.

So what does this casual meeting indicate? We can only speculate that while they were supposedly reminiscing on old times, the aging threesome were probably contemplating a reunion tour. We can only hope.
