'American Idol' on Nicki Minaj & Mariah Carey Spat: No Big Deal
Three days since pop divas Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj exchanged heated words during a taping of American Idol auditions, producers of the show say all is "well."
In a statement to MTV News, Idol producers say that "production is going extremely well today" as they go forward with the next round of auditions in Louisiana. Keyword here is "today."
"This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we've ever had. We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can't imagine a better group to find the next American Idol," reads the statement.
"Despite all the accusations and media speculation — much of which is inaccurate — production is going extremely well today and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge."
Whether this spat is a ploy to gain ratings or not, it seems the show will go on. But former American Idol judge Steven Tyler says it's BS.
