Mariah Carey Tells 'The View' That Nicki Minaj Threatened to Shoot Her

Minaj immediately denied the claim, but took aim at Carey in a series of pissed off tweets

After video hit the Internet of Nicki Minaj cursing out Mariah Carey on the set of American Idol, industry veteran Barbara Walters (who can get anything out of anyone) called up her pal Mariah to find out what the hell actually happened during that tantrum-filled audition

"When Nicki walked off the stage, multiple people heard her say, 'If I had a gun, I would shoot the b-tch,'" Walters said on The View, reading a transcription of her phone call with Carey.

"She doesn't feel that anything would actually happen," Walters said, continuing to talk on behalf of Mariah. "But Nicki is unpredictable and she can't take a chance so she's going to hire extra security."

Although Minaj chose to keep mum on the feud when the video leaked (and when Nick Cannon weighed in on the "catfight"), this allegation was apparently too much for her to ignore.

"Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho," Minaj tweeted. "Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz," Minaj tweeted, denying Carey's claim. In another tweet clearly directed at her Idol rival, she tweeted, "Keep them lies cmn… I don't call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet." Via Twitter, Minaj also noted that The View failed to reach out to her for comment.

What do you think? While this is definitely a weird instance of, "She says that they said that she said this terrible thing," I think it's fair to say that Minaj should probably keep her manic alter-ego Roman at bay when Carey is around. Because Mimi doesn't take things lightly.
