Maybach Rapper Gunplay Posts $150,000 Bail, Put Under House Arrest
Less than two weeks after turning himself in to Florida police, Maybach Music Group rapper Gunplay is out of jail and under house arrest thanks to a $150,000 bail bond, according to NBC Miami.
The 33-year-old MC—whose real name is Richard Morales—still faces charges of robbery with a handgun and aggravated assault from an April 13 incident at a tax business. The Rick Ross protege was released from Miami-Dade jail on Monday because "the state did not prove that Mr. Morales was a flight risk or a threat to the community," according to his attorney.
Although he turned himself in on October 10, Gunplay hasn't confirmed or denied the warrant's claim that he stole a gold chain from an acquaintance at gunpoint. His lawyer, however, told NBC, "This is first step in clearing his name so he can continue his emerging music career." In other words, he's hoping Morales can get back to rapping about gold chains instead of facing charges of stealing one.
