On this day in 1978, reggae/pop/rock/punk/everything band the Police entered Boston's The Rat Club and began a four-night stint that would kickstart one of the most influential bands of the 1970s and 80s. This being 2012, naturally YouTube's got audio of the band playing a majestically rambling version of "Roxanne" from that run of shows.
