Motorhead's Lemmy on Mitt Romney: "F-ckin' Monster"
If there's one thing that qualifies you as a political expert, it's working as Jimi Hendrix's roadie for seven months. If there are two things that qualify you as a political expert, it's working as Jimi Hendrix's roadie for seven months and then becoming one of the most badass rock legends of all-time. So let's take a second and listen to what Lemmy has to say about tonight's election, okay?
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the legendary bassist shared his thoughts on Obama and the mess he inherited. "I would have said America wasn't ready for [a black president],” he said. “And I don't think they were, because they're trying to drag him down now. I mean, the poor f--ker's only just gotten rid of all that George Bush sh-t that he left, or is trying to. And he's being stonewalled by the f--king Congress all the time. I don't know how he's gotten anything done.”
But what of Obama's opponent? "I mean the alternative is Mitt Romney," he said. "Please, please don't vote for Mitt Romney. F--k him. Repeal abortion law is the first thing he'll do. F--king monster."
This is the sort of analysis we're missing on cable news. Wouldn't you love to see Lemmy offering post-election thoughts to a clearly terrified Wolf Blitzer? I know I would.
But luckily for the Motorhead frontman, things right now are looking pretty good for Obama. But if that somehow changes, a word to the wise – stay away from the Rainbow Bar, a notorious haunt of Lemmy's, if you happen to be out in Los Angeles tonight.
