Four months since Korean pop star Psy released the ridiculously contagious single “Gangnam Style,” off his sixth studio album, the video has now become the most watched YouTube video of all time.
The global sensation, which features the 34-year-old rapper doing a horse dance (sparking a slew parodies) first bumped Jennifer Lopez's dance hit "On the Floor" from second place on YouTube earlier this month. Today, “Gangnam Style” racked up 803,761,928 views (and counting) knocking out the reigning number one video: Justin Bieber's “Baby.” Woah.
Psy’s international hit has stocked up several accolades including being recognized by Guinness World Records as the most “liked” video in YouTube history. He also garnered the attention of Madonna spawning a bizarre duet earlier this month at her Madison Square Garden concert. And let’s not forget the his epic performance at this year’s American Music Awards alongside MC Hammer.
And although Psy kicked out Bieber from his number one spot, we doubt there’s any animosity between the two heavy weights considering Psy is now label mates with the Biebs on Scooter Braun’s Schoolboy Records. This of course means a collaboration is also in the works.
"We have a plan to do something together later but we don't have any details yet. But, sure, we gonna do some work later on,” Psy said earlier this month.
Go on with your bad self, Psy! Just please watch out for those blood clots!
