The Wanted have had a very fruitful 2012 with their two singles "Glad You Came" and "Chasing The Sun" topping the charts. But it's been more than a year since they released a full-length studio album, putting them well behind their British boy band counterparts One Direction, which released two albums in 2012. In 2013 the Wanted are looking to catch up.
The Wanted's Tom Parker tells Billboard that "we're going to do two albums, one in April and one towards the end of the year, because we've written quite a lot of songs this year. We didn't get to release one at this end of this year so it's probably going to squeeze to next year, hopefully."
The cute quintet were expected to release an album this fall after their self-titled EP dropped stateside in April, but for whatever reason that never happened (perhaps distractions were to blame?).
Jay McGuiness adds: "[Our album] was meant to [arrive] this Christmas, but it wasn't ready yet so… we're thinking around April, we'll have something ready."
We're holding you to it, boys!
Catch the Wanted performing tomorrow night on ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," set to begin at 8 P.M. ET.
What kind of time warp?! '90s (and early 2000s) rock icons Fred Durst, Scott Weiland and Mark McGrath get photobombed by '70s icon Wayne Newton, aka Mr. Las Vegas. This should be all these guys' Christmas cards.
