Watch Jay-Z's Barclays Center Mini-Documentary 'Where I'm From'
Jay-Z's return to Brooklyn wasn't just an eight-night stint. Not only is he already returning to the Barclays Center for New Year's Eve with Coldplay, but video of his grand opening stretch has made its way into an iTunes "optic EP" and now a 24-minute YouTube documentary short, Where I'm From.
The new clip gives some background on Brooklyn's new arena, shows Hova rehearsing with his band and gives nearly complete looks at performances of "Clique," "Where I'm From," and "U Don't Know." Jay made plenty of headlines when he opted to ride the subway to his final gig, and now we finally get to hear his chat with that kind lady blissfully unaware she was talking to the Jiggaman himself. Hov also marvels at the arena's proximity to 560 State St., the former stash spot he shouts out in "Empire State of Mind" and revisited this autumn (read Fuse's firsthand account from the current tenant here!).
All in all, a great mini-doc. And nice timing—it's Jay's 43rd birthday. Cheers, Mr. Carter.
