Britney Spears closed out 2012 on Twitter answering a few questions from fans, and she confirmed, after much speculation, that she's working on new music! First Kimye's baby, now new Britney? 2013 is already a great year to be a pop fan.
A "really focused" Britney shared that she's "excited" for the new tunes and she's "collaborating with some new inspiring producers." Songwriter Elijah Blake, who's worked with Rihanna and Usher, shared in an interview with That Grape Juice that he's been working with the "Gimme More" singer on the new album as well: "I would say its definitely the ‘unexpected’ Britney in so many ways, in that she’s playing with new textures and stomping on new grounds and genres."
Maybe Britney's new music is the reason behind all those rumors about her leaving The X Factor. While nothing has been confirmed yet, many sources have claimed that the pop princess won't be returning as a judge next season. Us Weekly claims that producers "wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working." At least she's got a pretty lucrative hobby to keep her occupied.
