K-pop superstar Rain received an official slap on the wrist from South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense reports allkpop. The international star (who’s collaborated with the likes of Omarion musically and Christina Aguilera on a Pepsi commercial) was under investigation last week after paparazzi photos leaked, showing him out with his actress girlfriend, Kim Tae-hee, which was not authorized by his military advisors.

Although Rain works as an “entertainment soldier” (where he gets additional days off to record and perform), he will now be under a watchful eye to make sure he doesn't take any extra time away from his commitment to protecting his country.

Allkpop translated a statement from the Military of Defense: “After a decision by the disciplinary committee of his unit, Rain will be confined to his [barracks and the army base] for seven days of [self-reflection and introspection]… He violated regulations by having private meetings while on official duty.”

Looking at Psy's past as a cautionary tale (the “Gangnam Style” star was re-drafted in the military in 2007 after being found to neglect his 2003 duties), Rain should realize his celebrity status will not exempt him from harsher punishments. Rain only has a few months to go before his services ends in July where he can spend as much time as he pleases with his girlfriend.
