The Mars Volta Playlist to Get You Through Their Breakup

We can sometimes be the unapologetically nostalgic type, especially when bands we love break up. So when the Mars Volta frontman Cedrix Bixler-Zavala took to Twitter last night to announce his departure from the group—effectively ending the group's nine-year run—a tear dotted our hardcore-prog-jazz-funk-loving eyes. Remember this singular band with our Mars Volta playlist below. Normally, we'd pick a few tracks from each album, but we put the band's 2003 debut De-Loused in the Comatorium down in its entirety because it's just that classic.

July 22: HyunA Monkeys Around

HyunA, the K-pop star who gained global recognition from co-starring in Psy's "Gangnam Style" video, is teasing her new single "Red" in a very sexy, very odd new photoshoot. The singer poses amid two hunky beefcake wearing humongous, furry monkey heads. HyunA's new music will reportedly showcase a more "mature" side from the singer and while this isn't the look we were necessarily imagining, it does amp up our anticipation.
