John Mayer, musician and spokesperson for the national Foot-In-Mouth foundation, is apologizing (kind of) for a few of those not-so-tactful things he's said in the past about his relationships with exes Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift. John, who's currently dating Katy Perry, told CBS Sunday Morning, "I was just a jerk."
"It's very liberating when you finally realize it's impossible to make everyone like you." He continued, "I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction."
In 2010, John famously opened up to Playboy, sharing that Simpson was like "sexual napalm": "That girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy." He also revealed why things didn't work out with Aniston—it's rumored that they broke up because of Twitter. "I think [Jennifer's] still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction." And, of course, after hearing Swift's Speak Now diss track "Dear John," Mayer told Rolling Stone he was "humiliated" by the song and "didn't deserve it."
Do you really think John Mayer's turned over a new leaf? Maybe we should all go in on this pillow for him so he has a daily reminder.
