Good news for Dan Humphrey devotees: There's life post-Gossip Girl for Penn Badgley. If this clip of him playing Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic is any indication, the dude can not only charm on-camera with his personality but via his silky, aching voice as well.

In the above video, Badgley performs Tim Buckley's tune "Once I Was" and finds real soul within the folk-rock tune. And it's not post-production wizardry: You can watch him singing "Lilac Wine" (a song covered by Jeff Buckley and Miley Cyrus, of all people) live below, which he equally owns.

This scene from the film Greetings from Tim Buckley depicts Jeff singing at the 1991 tribute concert to his late father, a '70s folk star whom he met just once at age 8. His performance there helped propel his struggling music career into the big leagues, giving him the opportunity to take on the New York club scene and eventually record his only studio album, Grace, before drowning tragically at age 30.

If this clip is any indication, Badgley's voice does Jeff Buckley justice, and that's no small feat.
