Lollapalooza Lineup Leaks: Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix & More
After the annual rumor mill ran its course, the full lineup for Chicago's Lollapalooza festival has leaked in advance of the official announcement, set for April 9. Wednesday night a photo of a magazine ad featuring the complete lineup started making the rounds online.
Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, the Cure, the Killers and Nine Inch Nails top a very impressive bill for the event, set to hit Chicago's Grant Park August 2-4. How impressive, you ask? Try this puppy on for size:
New Order, Queens of the Stone Age, the Lumineers, the National, Kendrick Lamar, Eric Church, Steve Aoki, Ellie Goulding, Grizzly Bear, Lana Del Rey, Band of Horses, Major Lazer, Hot Chip, Azealia Banks, Local Natives, Crystal Castles, Tegan & Sara, Beach House, Cat Power, 2 Chainz, Frightened Rabbit, Matt & Kim, Alt-J, Foals, Father John Misty, Baauer, Jessie Ware, Baroness, Emeli Sande, Wild Nothing, Wavves, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Smith Westerns and many, many more are also set to play the long-running fest.
And, unlike Glastonbury, Jane's Addiction leader/fest founder Perry Farrell got the billing right—wouldn't Robert Smith's hair tangle in a knot if the Killers were billed above his classic new wave/emo-goth band? Yes. Yes, it would.
