Sigur Ros Preview New Album With Song & Video
Don't expect many of those hyper-atmospheric moments of viking-cherubs-bathing-in-sonic-sunlight that ruled Sigur Ros' catalogue up til now. The Icelandic band, now a trio, are promising "more aggressive" sounds on their new album, titled Kveikur, out June 17, and the first taste, a new song and video called "Brennisteinn," is solid proof of just that. Listen below (and check out the LP's creepy cover art above).
Expect more from Sigur Ros leading up to the album's release: The band debut another new track tonight on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, then play their biggest U.S. show yet on March 25 at NYC's Madison Square Garden. And if you buy a ticket to their U.S. tour, you score a free digital EP with three new songs. Check out the dates here.
