Lighting Equipment Collapses at Ultra Music Festival
As preparations were underway for tomorrow's opening of the Ultra Music Festival, lighting equipment fell on two workers, sending them to the hospital.
The festival has released the following statement: "Today (Thursday, March 14) as preparations were being made for this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival, a section of an LED screen fell and injured two workers. Fire Rescue was on site so there was a rapid response. Festival organizers are working with, and supporting, authorities as they investigate the details behind the accident."
CBS Miami is reporting that the victims were working on the stage when the lighting collapsed on top of them, trapping them. They were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
All work on the main stage has reportedly been suspended until the morning, when engineers can assess the site's safety. There is no word yet on how or if this will affect the festival's schedule. Check back to Fuse for the latest updates.
