Alice in Chains Tap GNR, Metallica, Pearl Jam for Sidesplitting Mockumentary
Behold AIC 23, a hilarious new Funny or Die video, which follows community college film studies professor Alan Poole McLard as he attempts to film a documentary about grunge vets Alice in Chains—without any assistance from the actual band.
In a hasty attempt to get his opus out before the release of Alice in Chains’ forthcoming LP, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (note: the record is real and set for a May 28th release), McLard interviews the hard rock confidants of Alice in Chains. He chats with the likes of Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo from Metallica, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, Kim Thayil from Soundgarden, Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart and ex-Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagen—oh, and a miniature horse.
Other stars of McLard's genius doc also include a Norwegian death metal band member and a fixed-gear bike-riding record store employee. In other words, it's an all star cast. Watch below.
In other grunge news... It’s been a melancholy week for fans with the anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death today. Also, the reissue of alt-rock supergroup Mad Season's only album, Above, brought Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready to tears. Hopefully this mockumentary will brighten their days.
