UK Folk Trio Daughter Turn Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" Into Quiet Bliss
Last month, we told you about UK indie folk group Daughter, the newest addition to your list of "Artists to make out to." The band's last track, "Human," was melancholy bliss, but we're even more enamored of their recent cover of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky."
Transforming the track from feelgood bliss to feel-sad mourning, singer Elena Tonra and Co. upend the French duo's disco-revivalist rhythms, turning "Get Lucky" into a quiet, plaintive ballad. The addictive melody remains, though stripped to its acoustic essentials. Take a listen.
