Ex-Yuck Frontman Daniel Blumberg Drops First Solo Song
Well, that was quick.
Just a week after frontman Daniel Blumberg announced his departure from Brit '90s alt-rock revivalists Yuck, the singer-guitarist is back to ease your indie rock heartache with his first solo tune under his new moniker, Hebronix.
Hear "Unreal," the title track for his upcoming debut (out July 9), below. The track, like the LP, is produced by ex-Royal Trux member Neil Hagerty, and (thank god!) it's no departure from his work with Yuck. There's silver-toned guitar jangle, a gentle-sway rhythm and sleepy-stoned lyrics: "Been sleeping for hours," he sings before hitting the smooth, sweet melody of the chorus: "I feel unreal / I feel unreal / I feel unreal." So does that swelling wave of opiate-warm feedback.
