'Great Gatsby' Soundtrack To Get the Vinyl Treatment Courtesy of Jack White
The Great Gatsby soundtrack will be a star-studded affair befitting of Gatsby himself. That being so, Jack White has figured out what is possibly the only way to make the release more lavish than it already is: a slick vinyl makeover.
Seeing as White is one of said stars featured on the soundtrack, it should come as no surprise that his label, Third Man Records, is orchestrating the vinyl deluxe edition. And we all know how much Jack White loves a vinyl record.
Unlike the standard 14-song soundtrack, the vinyl version will feature 17 tracks. And in addition to the full-length release, Third Man said there will be several corresponding 7-inches. Unfortunately, they are keeping the list of songs set to get the 7-inch treatment a surprise—except for (unsurprisingly) White's U2 cover "Love is Blindness."
Third Man have not given a specific date yet for the deluxe vinyl edition and 7-inch series' release, but be on the lookout for the soundtrack itself. You can get your paws on the Jay-Z produced Music From Baz Luhrmann's Film The Great Gatsby May 7th!
