Jessie Ware Covers Forgotten Prince Song "Love… Thy Will Be Done"
Unless she's taking on "House Quake," it's hard to imagine Jessie Ware covering Prince and producing a track that's anything short of sublime. And now we have definitive proof this is true.
The British songstress recently put her neo-soul flair on "Love… Thy Will Be Done," a track the Purple One co-wrote for the mostly forgotten singer-songwriter Martika in 1991. Ware's voice occupies every corner of this spacey R&B ballad. It's not radically different from the excellent original, but her voice brings a tinge of sadness and a soulful fullness that Martika's version lacked.
Listen to it below and prepare to swoon. It just might match Ware's stunning cover of Rihanna's "Diamonds."
