When the venerable metal mag Revolver puts on its fifth annual Golden Gods Awards on May 2, L.A.'s Club Nokia will be torn apart by a lineup of metal's alpha dogs. That means the mighty Metallica, the legendary Danzig (joined by a former Misfits bandmate!) and thrash metal pioneers Anthrax.

Corey Taylor's killer side project Stone Sour will also rock the awards ceremony, as well as L.A.'s Five Finger Death Punch, hardcore punks the Dillinger Escape Plan and sibling-fronted hard rock outfit Halestorm.

In addition to performing, Metallica will receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award. Yes, somehow other metal acts have been given this award before Metallica. You can watch the madness broadcast live via Facebook and Xbox Live on May 2.
