Indie Soul-Pop Group Polica Unveil New Track "Tiff" With Justin Vernon
All the Bon Iver talk last week was about the Shouting Matches, the blues-rock side project formed by frontman Justin Vernon. But now it's Monday—new news cycle and all—and Vernon has reunited with Minneapolis indie soul-pop group Polica for the latter's new track "Tiff."
If you watched Polica's Coachella set over the weekend, you saw Vernon (who performs with the group's Ryan Olson and Channy Leaneagh as Gayngs) join the group onstage to debut the above track. The band was kind enough to capitalize on the buzz and share the studio version today.
Leaneagh's moody, icy vocals are offset by vintage synths and a propulsive backbeat augmented by the group's two (!) drummers. It's a gorgeous, meditative track, but we expect nothing less from one of our favorite bands of 2012.
