The National Perform Two New Album Tracks on 'Fallon'
"It's about to get loud, guys," an ecstatic Jimmy Fallon said Thursday night when introducing the National's televised performance. He was right.
New York City's moody indie rockers will release their sixth album Trouble Will Find Me on May 20, and the six-piece band dropped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to perform a pair of new LP tracks, "Sea of Love" and "I Need My Girl." The former was a driving rocker with the LP's title lyric: "If I stay here trouble will find me / I believe," Matt Berninger croons over sprinting electric guitar strums. Watch above at the 37:00 minute mark.
The latter, a web exclusive, starts with a twinkling and bright guitar riff, then thunder-rumble distortion rolls in and builds like dark storm clouds. It's gorgeous. Watch right now, right here.
